Replica of a borre style strap end of the Viking era from Birka.
This detail replica of a Viking belt end is based on Viking models in the so-called borre style and is dating to the 9th to 10th century, found in Birka / Sweden.
Viking strap ends of this type were found very frequently and were widespread in Scandinavia, Gotland and Russia.
The Viking belt end has the dimensions 6.5 x 1.8 cm.
The strap end fitting is thus suitable for belts up to 2 cm wide.
The belt end is made of genuine bronze and also available in silver plated.
As it is was usualy during the Viking era, the belt end replica has on the back four pins of 8 mm length for fixing.
